Q. What date is the Charity Fun Cycle

A. Saturday 22nd April, 2017.

 

Q. Where does the Fun  Cycle begin and end?

A. We will meet at Tomb Street Carpark @9.00am sharp for a 9:30am start and finish in Portaferry (via Comber)    ~ 33 miles.

 

Q. Do you have to be a Royal Mail Employee to take part?

A. No.  Everyone is welcome but you must apply for a registration form and return it in the prepaid envelope which will be supplied.

 

Q. Do you have to register?

A. Yes. Registration forms will be available outside the shift manager’s room NIMC, available to download at http://www.pennyblackclub.co.uk/ or contact Mal at the email address below. Completed forms must be posted in the Postbox outside the shift manager’s room, by mail to Penny Black Club, NIMC, Mallusk, BT36 4HQ or by return by email to malmcgovern@hotmail.co.uk

 

Q. Is there an entry charge.

A. NO. All we ask is that you raise a minimum of £50. Sponsor forms will be provided on completion of registration form.

 

Q. Which Charities will the money go to?

A. We are supporting the Northern Ireland Children’s Hospice.  A proportion of money raised will be matched by Royal Mail through their Community Support Scheme.

                                                                                                                                                                          

Q. Who are the organisers?

A. The Royal Mail Penny Black Club, based at the NI Mail Centre, Mallusk.

 

Q. What do I do with my sponsorship money?

A. You need to bring your sponsorship money with you on the day and hand it in at the registration station at the starting line or give it to Mal McGovern along with your sponsor form.

 

Q. Will I need a safety helmet?

A. Yes, strongly advised.

 

Q. Will there be any water stations and food provided?

A. Yes. There will be a couple of stops on the way for refreshments (W.C. available) and lunch will be provided in the Coach Inn, Portaferry,  free of charge.

 

Q. Are there changing rooms and showers provided?

A. Yes. At St Columbas College, Portaferry, where the cycle finishes.

 

Q. Can I bring a change of clothes?

A. Yes. A Royal Mail van will carry any bags you have. (Please put name tags on any bags you bring.)

 

Q. Will there be parking available.

A. Yes. You can park in the Royal Mail Tomb Street Car Park where the cycle starting point will be.

 

Q. Is there an age limit.

A. Yes, 16 & over.

 

Q. Is there a limit to how many cyclists that can take part?

A. Yes. We are restricted to the first 60 registrations.

 

Q. Will I have to cycle back from Portaferry?

A. No. A bus will be provided to take all participants back to Tomb Street @ 5:00pm. Your bike will be transported back to Tomb Street in a Royal Mail lorry. Anyone wishing to leave their bike over the weekend can collect it up at the NI Mail Centre, Mallusk,  the following week.
