Lights to Remember Service 2024

  • Belfast

Remember your special loved ones this Christmas

Join us on Thursday, 19th December at 7pm at Dominican College, Fortwilliam, Belfast, as we come together to remember and celebrate the lives of our cherished loved ones at our poignant Lights to Remember service.

Lights to Remember is a special service that we hold every year at Christmas. It's not only for those touched by Hospice care, but for all who have felt the grief of bereavement.

It’s a peaceful moment to gather as a community, honouring the memories of those we hold dear. Through shared reflection, we hope to find comfort, a sense of healing, and gentle connection, as we come together to celebrate the lives of our loved ones.

During this moving service, we come together to enjoy beautiful carols, thoughtfully selected reflections, and readings by guest speakers.

The Smith Family and our President, Paul Clark, will  illuminate our Christmas tree lights at Somerton House, our Adult In-Patient Unit, in loving memory of our dearly departed and to support those who are grieving.

We warmly invite you to join us for our Lights to Remember service this December. You can also share your cherished memories and dedicate a light in honour of your loved one on our beautiful virtual tree.

Together, we’ll brighten the darkness with love, remembrance, and the warmth of shared reflection.

Dedicate your light on our virtual tree below, and let your tribute shine in memory of someone special.

Christopher & Leancha's Story

Leancha Smith was only 31 years old when she passed away in the Northern Ireland Hospice In-Patient Unit last year. Initially, Leancha received Hospice at Home care in the home she shared with her husband, Christopher, and their daughter Meabh (8), before she made the brave decision to be admitted to the unit where she passed away in August 2023.
