Moving on up! NI Hospice opens its new Shankill Road Shop!

Northern Ireland Hospice has re-opened its Shankill Road Hospice Shop, following a relocation to fabulous new premises which have seen the store increase its square footage – with even more space for its much-loved bargains!

Miss Northern Ireland Kaitlyn Clarke cut the ribbon to officially re-open the store, before greeting the store’s customers, and making a few fashion purchases of her own after browsing the racks of pre-loved clothes.

Grace Tipton, Manager of the Hospice’s Shankill Road store, said: “After being closed for the relocation, we are so excited to re-open the doors to our amazing customers in the Shankill Road area.

“We have always had fantastic support from local people. I’m sure they will be impressed by the stylish, modern interior, as well as the wide range of quality, pre-loved goods, including shoes, fashion accessories, and clothing for ladies, children, and gents.

“We will have a mix of the familiar friendly faces still serving a wonderful range of quality items to complement the ‘bigger, better and brighter’ environment for people searching for quality bargains. The new contemporary look will once more prove to be an added draw to the area.

“Most importantly, the refreshed shop will help make a huge difference in the lives of local people who need it most, especially during the cost-of-living crisis. Not only can you bag a bargain with every purchase, but you are also helping us to raise much-needed funds for local families who depend on our specialist palliative care.

“We are also looking for new volunteers to join our team. If you’re interested in volunteering, please call in to see us in the store, and speak to a member of our friendly team.

“We also need donations of quality, unwanted goods. So, if you’re having a clear-out, please donate to NI Hospice and help us provide specialist care for local people living with life-limiting or life-threatening illnesses.”

Appropriately, the re-opening of the Shankill Road Hospice Shop took place during Circular Economy Week and immediately after Recycle Week 2023.

NI Hospice’s Head of Retail, Alan Kennedy, added: “We are all aware of the need to protect the planet and what better way to be more environmentally conscious than by generously donating items you no longer need to your local Hospice shop. With your support, our store will continue to be at the forefront of sustainable shopping.

“We can then proudly play our part in the circular economy by offering quality preloved clothing and goods at low prices, preventing them from going to landfill, while the funds raised from the sale allow Hospice to continue to provide specialist care in the local community.

“Thank you to the people of the Shankill Road for your continued support for Hospice.”
