Miss NI raises a cuppa to help Hospice launch its biggest-ever 2023 Big Coffee Break flagship fundraiser!

Miss Northern Ireland Kaitlyn Clarke recently joined NI Hospice to raise a cuppa to launch the 2023 Big Coffee Break campaign at the local charity’s Somerton Road site in North Belfast.

Actress Olivia Nash, Vice President of NI Hospice, also attended the launch alongside some of Hospice’s corporate partners and supporters from the local business community, including Platinum Financial Planning, Everyone Works In Sales, XCell, Workrise and ACA Models.

Big Coffee Break, an annual community fundraising initiative which is now in its 31st year, encourages individuals across the country to host their own Big Coffee Break events. Organisers simply sign up for a free bag of Hospice Blend Coffee, get brewing and collect just £2 for each cup of coffee served.

2023 sees the Hospice mark 40 years of care and aims to celebrate with the largest ever number of Big Coffee Break events being hosted over the month of September.

Trevor McCartney, Acting NI Hospice Chief Executive, spoke at the launch and said: “2023 marks a special year for Hospice as we mark four decades of outstanding palliative care in our local community.

“We would love it if as many people as possible would help us celebrate this special milestone by registering register to host a Big Coffee Break at home, at work or in the community.

“It’s really a great opportunity to make moments matter by catching up with family, friends or colleagues over a cuppa, and at the same time making such a difference.

“Big Coffee Break is our flagship fundraiser each year. Having a cup of tea or coffee is such an easy and enjoyable way to support local people in your community and ensure the continued delivery of our vital care services across Northern Ireland.

“We look forward to our supporters getting on board to help Hospice by hosting even more Big Coffee Break fundraising events this year than ever before!”

The NI Hospice Big Coffee Break runs throughout the month of September, though hosts can organise events on whatever date suits best up to 30th November.

Every person that signs up will receive a free fundraising pack with everything they need to have a successful event, including special recipes, posters and coasters, as well as a bag of delicious Hospice Blend Coffee.
