£979.44 RAISED FOR NI CHILDREN’S HOSPICE AT MEMORIAL SERVICE

Stephen McCosh Funeral Directors would like to thank everyone who attended their Annual Christmas Memorial Service on Monday 12th December. At the service a collection was held for N.I. Children's Hospice which raised £979.44.  

This is the second time the local Shankill funeral directors has supported the Children’s Hospice through their memorial service, raising a total of £452.32 in 2015.

Stephen McCosh said; “Yet again the kindness of the people of the greater Shankill area knows no bounds. A fantastic £979.44 was raised for the Children’s Hospice through our memorial service and we would just like to say thank you to everyone who attended our service and helped to make this donation possible”.

Northern Ireland Children’s Hospice provides respite and end of life care to 300 life-limited children and their families each year.NI Children’s Hospice provides, essential, specialist nursing care for children and young people with life-limiting conditions either in the child’s own home or at one of our purpose built hospices in Newtownabbey or Enniskillen. 

Care provided by NI Children’s Hospice is FREE to families, however, it costs approximately £3.5million to run the specialist service each year. The Children’s Hospice receives limited statutory funding, in the region of £1.2million which means £2.3milion needs to come from donations and fundraising.   

Jenay Doyle, Community Fundraiser for NI Children’s Hospice added; “We are so grateful to Stephen for choosing to once again support our charity through his memorial service. We would also  like to thank everyone who gave so generously, thanks to your support we are able to put families first and provide vital services to life limited children living across Northern Ireland”.
