1. How long have you worked at Northern Ireland Hospice?

I have been working at Northern Ireland Hospice for 13 years.

2. How would you describe Northern Ireland Hospice?

It’s a very special place where people and their families at the most vulnerable and emotional time of life are looked after with great dignity, care and respect.

3. In your opinion, what does it take for Northern Ireland Hospice/ provide hospice care?

It’s a collaboration of holistic and compassionate care delivered by a very dedicated team which is supported significant fundraising efforts and the generosity of the Northern Ireland public.

4. Is there a hospice moment/memory that stays with you?

There are many, many intimate moments from over the years but one over-arching moment for me was the few days leading up to transferring patients from our temporary home at Whiteabbey Hospital to the new Somerton House facility in 2016. Every staff member and volunteer rolled up their sleeves and pulled out all the stops to ensure patients would be transferred comfortably and safely into the beautiful, new In Patient Unit.  The unwavering dedication to the care provided is what makes Hospice unique.
