Northern Ireland Hospice has announced the return of its much-loved Hospice Walks, which are back this Spring with in-person events this March, April and May.
Northern Ireland Hospice is now calling on individuals to put their best foot forward with their family and friends, and join the charity to celebrate the return of the walks.
The 2022 Hospice Walks are kindly sponsored by Causeway Coast Holiday Park and will take place in seven beautiful locations across Northern Ireland, including Divis/Black Mountain, North Down Coastal Path, Larne Coastal Route, Lagan Tow Path, Woodburn Reservoir, Ballycastle and Coleraine/Portstewart.
Hospice is encouraging people to sign-up to a walk in their local area. From the beautiful coastal views of the North Down Coastal Path Walk to the breath-taking, sandy beaches of the North Antrim Coast, each walk promises to be a great day out with family and friends.
For those who wish to push themselves to new heights, challenge walks will also be taking place at Slieve Donard, Cuilcagh Boardwalk and Cavehill.
This year marks the 41st anniversary of Hospice Walks which will once again be celebrated by many people in-person this year, a step away from the virtual walks in recent years. All the walks will raise much-needed funds for the charity that helps support the care of babies, children and adults living with life-limiting and life-threatening illnesses.
Northern Ireland Hospice, Director of Brand and Commercial Development, Mary McCall, said: “The Hospice Walks are a wonderful tradition and we’re delighted to see the return of in-person walks! After we have all spent so much time indoors during lockdown, we want people to step out together again for our Hospice Walks in a true celebration of life. You can dedicate your Hospice Walk to a loved one, meet up with friends or just walk to improve your well-being – we’d love for you to join us whatever the reason.
“Events like Hospice Walks are an important way for us to raise money as the majority of our income comes from the generosity of the local community. By taking part you can make a big difference and help us to continue to be there for families when they need us most.”
The much-loved tradition of Hospice Walks has been hugely popular, raising funds for the charity over the years and helping Hospice to continue providing specialist palliative care for patients and families across Northern Ireland.
